About the event

Howay the Lasses’ celebrates the lives of notable North East women who changed history. Using music to tell their stories and bring their achievements to a wider audience, join award winning musicians - pianist/accordianist/songwriter Annie Ball, singer-songwriter Bronwen Davies-Jones, cellist Katie Tertell, and singer-songwriter Gareth Davies-Jones for an engaging and accomplished musical evening with original songs, stirring tunes and a curiosity of tales - each with their own unique character. Combining over 30 years of touring experience, Annie, Bronwen, Katie and Gareth bring a range of instruments, wit and wisdom and to guide you through the life and times of women engineers like Rachel Parsons, notable historic figures such as Roman writer Claudia Severa, and pioneering inventors like Janet Taylor.  ‘Howay The Lasses’ - come and be entertained by musical tales of daring, disaster, perseverance, intrigue and invention.
